Choosing the Right Wedding Music Volume

Choosing the Right Wedding Music Volume

When you begin you NYC Wedding Planning venture, it is important to consider how the NYC Jazz Band will function over the course of the entire event. There are moments in weddings when you want the jazz band front and center, like during the dancing part of the reception. At other times, however, the jazz band is there to deliver an upbeat, gracious atmosphere, like during the cocktail hour. The last thing you want to have is a jazz band with so much equipment and gear that it drowns out the conversations held at your party.  So, choosing the right wedding music volume is vitally important.

Experience has taught the groups at Alex Levin Music that the best idea for incorporating live music, involves placing the NYC Jazz Band in a specific area of the party room and keeping the sound local. Those who wish to be close to the music will move close to the band.  Others who wish to chat with friends and family members might step away from the bandstand.

We encourage clients to consider different zones of the event space with louder and quieter music, especially when guests are just beginning to connect or reconnect with other people at the party.  When the band’s Wedding Music Volume is balanced, your guests will typically enjoy themselves more.

Our band’s will typically scout your venue before the night of your wedding.  This will allow us to know exactly where to set up.  We will coordinate with you and your NYC Wedding Planner, to figure out the best location for our band.

There might be moments that you’d like the Wedding Music Volume to be much lower.  This is especially important during the ceremony, toasts, and various announcements.  Typically, our bands will communicate with your NYC Wedding Planner and NYC Wedding Venue so that everyone is on the same page.

Remember, when it’s time to book your NYC Jazz Band…consider Alex Levin Music and our wonderful variety of NYC Jazz Groups for hire.
